Plaintiff, an Engineer and Inventor, developed mesothelioma cancer as a result of exposure to asbestos fibers. The exposure took place in the early 1970’s but the cancer did not manifest itself for thirty (30) years. HKD was able to obtain purchase orders and other records from 1971 containing the name of the company that sold the asbestos. Plaintiff died as a result, and an action was commenced by plaintiff’s wife for wrongful death, pain and suffering and lost earnings. HKD served as co-counsel. $1,000,000.00 - Immigrant Factory Worker-Premises Liability-Wrongful Death

Plaintiff, a factory worker was instantly killed when an explosion occurred in the vitamin factory where he worked. HKD was able to prove that the explosion was caused by the accumulation of dust in the rafters of the factory which was ignited by a spark. The settlement was reached during the trial.

Plaintiff suffered severe burns and died as a result of the negligence of the defendant. Plaintiff died almost immediately. Plaintiff commenced an action for Wrongful Death. The case settled during a Trial Conference for $925,000.00.

$600,000.00 - Retired Plaintiff - Car Accident - Wrongful Death

Plaintiff, a Manhattan resident, was a passenger in a motor vehicle accident. The driver of plaintiff's vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by a second vehicle. Plaintiff suffered massive injuries including fractured pelvis, fractured ribs and collapsed lung. Plaintiff ultimately died as a result of his injuries.
